ZhangJiajie-Taiwan Direct Flight Opened
At 2:07 pm on April 15, the successful landing of China Southern Airlines’ Plane A320 marked the official opening of the Zhangjiajie-Taipei (Taoyuan Airport) direct route.
As the second route directly linking Hunan with Taiwan, following the Changsha-Taiwan direct route, the flight is scheduled on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays, launched by China Southern Airlines. Taiwan Trans-Asia Airways will also launch a Taipei-Zhangjiajie direct flight on Mondays, Thursdays and Sundays from June on.
“I have long heard about Zhangjiajie in the mainland, now it only takes 2.5 hours to get here, I will make best use of the 5 days to enjoy its magnificent beauty ”, said 76-year-old Xu Renshang, a famous tap dance master in Taiwan. By taking a maiden flight, he made his first visit here. Without transfer of flights or buses, he looked full of energy.
“Among the 8 newly-added waypoints of regular flights to the mainland, Zhangjiajie is the hottest”, said Taiwan Commercial Times. Due to its unique natural landscape and well-designed promotion strategies, Zhangjiajie attracted 2,160,000 inbound tourists in 2012, of which 150,000 are from Taiwan.
