Hunan Airport Sees Surge in Passenger Flow During the Spring Festival
From early morning of Feb.9th (Chinese New Year's Eve) to 18 pm of Feb.24 (Lantern Festival), Hunan's five airports handled 6,071 flights and received 607,265 passengers in total, mainly departing to cities like Shenzhen, Beijing, Sanya, Shanghai, Guanghzou, Haikou, Chengdu and Kunming.
Since the beginning of the spring rush, flights clearance rate reached 96.42% of the time and flights disembarking/embarking by the loading bridge was up to 93.25% of the time for Changsha Huanghua International Airport. All the security channels and check-in counters were at work during peak times, effectively eliminating missed passengers and luggage checks and long queues, thus decrease passengers wait time in the terminals. From Feb.9th to 15th, airport shuttle buses registered 2,200 movements and 56,000 passenger intake, providing convenience and prompt service for travelers.
According to the Changsha Border Defense Inspection Station, Changsha Huanghua International Airport handled 221 international flights and received a total of 30,700 passengers, up 14.5% and 30.2% respectively compared with the same period of last year. Thailand, Taiwan, Singapore, South Korea, Hong Kong remained the most popular destinations. A total of 5,700 international passengers entered or exited China via Changsha Port. Countries bringing most foreign travelers were South Korea, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia and the United States.
